Default 3206 hydro made lots of noise and stopped moving

Hi all, I have a 2000 3206 and while mowing the hydro started making a growling noise and started to loose steering, deck lift and then everything stopped. won't move, no steering and no lift. Any ideas?

Did you start by checking the hydro level?

Broken pin in the drive line would be the first place to check.
Sounds like the pump isn't turning and that would be the reason.

These do not have pins in the drive line like the old Cubs, they have plastic barrels in a coupler. My guess is that it puked the charge pump. Pics are what the 2000 + 3000 series use instead of the flex disc joints or CV joints.

Default 3206 Hydro

Hi All, Thanks for the response. Now that the charge pump is brought up I am sure that is where I will find my problem. The noise was slight and my wife was mowing and she came across the yard and it kept getting worse and worse. It just made it into the shop before it stopped. Then the noise quit when it stopped moving. I will tear into it when I get the spare time. Thanks for the help

Punch "gerotor cub cadet" into your favorite search engine.
Then do some reading.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
