Default Three point hitch? 72

What does it take to add a three point hitch to a 72? Can it even be added?

Yes. Rear sheet metal frame cap piece comes off and hole in the left and right of the frame accepts a through shaft that holds the lifting mechanism. Linkage goes inside the frame on the right side and hooks to rock shaft. Place a want ad in the wanted section for one. Also might want a spring assist as well.

That is for a cat 0 3 point hitch, the IH one is basically a one point hitch.

IH called it a 3 point hitch, but it's not a cat 0 3 point like most people think when you say "3 point hitch". It does have 3 points, 1 at the top and 2 at the bottom, but it's not as versatile as a cat 0.

Looks like it's well outfitted for winter AND in nice condition.

About that trailer paint though.....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
