Well If I had to guess, sounds like you are recapping a vintage tube radio,
or possibly needing a starting capacitor for your furnace? Sorry, my crystal ball don't work below freezing temperatures, on cloudy days or if it don't feel like it. |

I have wondered what the mysterious value of the Ignition Condenser would be and I have never seen an accurate or correct value. I have seen a lot of speculated values, but nothing concrete. So, for the relative low price, and the infrequent amount of times they fail, I simply choose to just replace them if I feel one is bad.

Some of the older condensers for cars were stamped on the end, but I'm like George, I can't remember what it said.

I Googled "automotive condenser capacitance value. This was the first, of 2,230,000 results....
100-250nF Most condensers used in magnetos have a capacitance value between the values of 100-250nF. Note that condensers used for battery/coil ignition systems are usually twice these values because they need to cater for the, usually 12v, battery voltage already present across the points when they close. Edit: I should add that 250 nfarad (nano farad) is 25 microfarad. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
