Default Got a new 1811 Sunday

Picked up a decent 1811 that is in okay shape. Looks like the PO drilled the output shaft and hacked up the drive shaft coupling pretty bad, but fixable.
I could not see the shaft going into the HYDRO turning when I pushed it a little, but I will check that out this weekend when I open it up. I have a donor 1440 rear available if there are issues, but I am not sure if any of that hardware will work or not.
The mower deck that came with it is in outstanding shape.
The tractor has been sitting for a long while and the motor starts right up very easily runs and idles really nice. It was also good to see that there were newer filters on the machine and the tins were clean with no debris packed in there and NO mouse nests.
This thing will need a good cleaning too.

Congrats on the new 1811! I can't read the team sticker but I'm sure it's worth some HP.

MORE HORSEPOWER????

I don't think so buddy...........they are Raven's stickers and I think that they are pretty low on "horsepower" right now..........LOL

Tractor is a little rough but I will check it out this weekend.

I cannot see the shaft turning out of the hydro when you push it so something is going on there and I can see that the PO tried to drill that small stub of an input shaft and may have it all jacked up so that could be bad if that shaft is beyond repair.

I promise to post pictures of the carnage that I find as I know how much everyone appreciates the horror stories.

Will get more pics posted this weekend when I tear into it a little....if I can wait that long.

Only time that shaft turns is when the engine is running.

Thanks Sam, I have not opened up the end yet NOT THAT I AM SCARED or anything......LOL, but they did have the front cover off where the input goes into the hydro and they told me that nothing was turning and you will laugh when I send you the pic of what they did. They totally eliminated a rag joint of any kind and looks like they put a piece of pipe in there and then it went downhill from there.

Will try to get a few minutes on it tonight to see what is going and if I need anything other than some rear hardware/coupling stuff.

NO MATTER WHAT, I will open up that rear and change the fluid and filter. If I can find a spare rear, I would give the SAM MAC ROUTINE NUMBER 1 and drill the tubes. That is one of the best fixes that you have ever posted.

Sounds like a project machine. If it's buggered up you may be better of with a used pump. Some people should not be allowed to use tools.

Default Just for Sam's entertainment

Okay buddy here you go:

I could not resist looking to see "what was inside the box" so when I came home I took of the cover and took some picture of the damage to see why the "stuff just wouldn't turn any more". Yeah.........this rubber coupling thing doesn't need to be here so we'll just cut that out...........LOL

Also looked at the rear and the two bottom bolts on the left side are not even there and not sure if they are broken off or not.
This thing will be just a grass killer so I don't think that I'll need the SAM MAC braces on it, but if it does I'll just get a set later on.

I don't have much of a stub to work with as it is only about 1/2" sticking out.

Save yourself the time and $$$, just find a good ported pump for it. If you decide to put braces on it the GT kit is what you need for the 1811.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
