Thank you everyone for the kind words. As far as how it pulls vs my 12" cat 0 plow I don't really feel any difference, it may pull a little harder but not anywhere near that I'm worried about blowing the rearend out of tractor. I just stay smart with it, plow with it for spurts at a time and then let it sit and let rearend cool down. The ground where I'm gonna plow with buster bar is really Sandy mellow ground that pulls really nice for a plow. I don't think I'd want to go to a heavy clay soil and plow all day but that's why I keep my cat 0 12" plow for that. Buster bars were used mainly in spring plowing where the buster bar would bust up the big dirt clods and level the ground so that the farmer could either use just light tillage before planting or come right in after plowing and plant. I thought it would be great on a gwwrden tractor 2 bottom plow as I havnt seen one on a garden tractor plow before. My buddy and I did quite a bit of research and test tuning with it in the ground to fine tune things and make sure it works before we tore every thing down for paint. I'll be sure to get a video of it in action at the March 31st plowday and post a link to video for everyone who might wanna see it.

Excellent work, as always!!

My dad has always sworn by IH plows with the Buster Bar set ups. When they picked up an 800 series 9 bottom they pieced together all the Buster Bar mounting arms Dad had been "collecting" at auctions. He felt the price of the pipe with tines was rediculous at that time so they put on planks instead. That plow is a flex with 5 bottoms forward and 4 to the rear, I think..... I do know it took five mounting bars do to cover flex set up. Surprisingly the planks did very well and are still on it. However, since they went to a Dominator a few years back, the plows have remained idle.

Thanks everyone When we farmed dad had an IH plow he plowed with with an IH 1466. Ours didn't have have a buster bar but I've seen them mounted on other plows and did some research on them and that's what got the wheels turning on this project just on a smaller scale. I thought it would be neat not only to see on a garden tractor plow but the main reason also functionality of the buster bar being used on it just like the bigger versions.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
