A buddy off mine has a 1204 with a 38” deck and a 42” blade he’s lookin to sell. Has 299 hrs on it and it looks brand new. He asked how much I thought it was worth and I have no idea.

Hi Doug,
I assume this is a local friend, Unfortunately our area(ohio)is flooded with cub cadets, a quick search FB CL etc turned up a 1806, 680, 982 all for the $475-700 range these all seem to be comparable to your friends tractor. |

I hooked her up with another friend and they agreed to a $500 price. She never intended on using it again so I think they both made out. She also has a tractor there that she is storing for her neighbor. 147 with a tiller, deck, blade, and a chipper that mounts to the front. Not an International one though. The owner said he’d sell it to me for $300. If I don’t jump I’ll post it here.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
