Default 1641 Hydro Drive Adjustment

Can someone provide the service manual or instructions to adjust the hydrostatic transmission neutral position on a 1641. Mine creeps backwards slowly when in neutral. Thank you

With the limited information you supplied, there were 3 runs of the 1641 depending on serial number range.

The 1641 had a Hydro Gear transmission different from the Sundstrand that was normally used.

I looked through my Library and could not find anything as far as a Service Manual for the Tractor Chassis, nor anything on Hydro Gear.

The best I can come up with is a Owner's Manual.

UPDATE:

In looking at a generic parts diagram, I would "assume" that you could adjust the linkage on the "connecting rod" [#13] that attaches to the "cam plate" [#29].

You adjust the hydro gear linkage the same way as the Sundstrand. you raise or lower #26 to get neutral

Thank you both for your responses and I appreciate the diagram. I will report back with pictures just in case others have similar issues.

Here are the instructions for a Sunstrand from Service Bulletin CC-188 March 5, 1990.

Removing the pan just below the dash provided access and adjusting the linkage for the connecting rod #13 was the correct fix for my 1641. My model number is 144-653-100

Loosening the 2 locking nuts and threading the rod forward (essentially moving the cam backward) and then securing the locks nuts worked to keep her from moving while in neutral.

All good, many thanks for the responses and diagram.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
