my 147 is much heavier than my 73. I can darn near pick up the front of the 73 and scoot it around due to the fact it has a 7HP motor as compared to the tank that is the 14. No way I can pick up any part of my 147.

Nobody is pointing a damn gun to your head and holding your family for ransomn if you don't go there and read it and believe it. You can always go to Fakebook or Shitter to get the truith from people who have nothing better to do than post about the unfactual weight of a garden tractor. Don't like what you read there? Then don't go there and don't read it. Time to get a life and move on. WGAF anyway! |

Yes, the engine has a lot to do with the weight... I am a bit concerned about the counterballast for my cat 0 hitch, because the diesel that I'm putting in my 782 is a heck of a lot lighter.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
