Default Box Scraper and Cultivator Value

Hey all,

I picked up this box scraper and cultivator as part of a larger package. I don’t have use for either and would like to list them at a fair price. Anybody care to estimate their value? And does anybody know who’s made this cultivator? Thanks.

The cultivator looks like a Brinly and I would say it is an early version of theirs, since it is not fully adjustable (just has the 2 extra bolt holes and not slots). Sears made one similar to them. I have 2 of the cultivators and I paid $80 or $100....I forget for the one I have with shovels and $60 for the one I have with spikes, like yours, but mine had a little less rust and came with some extra spikes. This thread should probably be posted in the "What's It Worth" category of the forum. I would say your cultivator is worth around $75 to $100. I am not for sure how much your international Box Scraper is worth, but I would estimate $125 to $150 as just a shot in the dark.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
