Heck, if I has the equipment and know-how you boys got, I'd be thumpin' my chest... Ain't braggy, just the facts.

Do you happen to know the retracted length and stroke of the cylinder you used on the power angle blade? Or even a link to it?

Have a dual spool valve I want to put on one of my QLs, and a 54 inch blade.

That cylinder is a 6" stroke which is perfect for a 42" blade. It's one I bought for an experimental project that turned out to be a perfect fit. I'll include links below, I'm sure Nightow1 woulda responded but he was busy fighting fire today!

42" blade cylinder

54" blade

54" blade, cheaper option with a larger-diameter rod. Rod needs to be cut with a pin hole drilled in it to get closer to the retracted length measurement.

Good Morning,

I wanted to confirm that the 54" blade cylinder from surplus center is a direct mount and go option for the Haban blade beside the mounting bolts and lines etc? Is there any additional work needed to be done or is this a near identical cylinder that comes in the cub cadet kit?

Thanks in advance.

I used the cylinder recommended by Rescue11 on a 54 inch blade in this thread:

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
