Default Water Main Repair

I just thought I'd share some more work pictures from back in January. Our crew was repairing a water main break on 6" cast iron main. A local guy asked if he could come out and practice with his drone. He is interested in doing some job site surveillance as a side job. I thought the pictures were pretty neat.

Cool pictures mrmiller, did you have to replace part of the main? I also now work for the city water distribution department I started just before Thanksgiving last year our town is mostly cast iron mains but most of our newer ones now are C-900 we mostly use pex pipe for services. I like doing that kind of work I have learned a lot already but I'm still seeing new situations everyday Thank you for sharing.

Yes we cut out a section of the main and installed pvc with 2 high max couplings. I've been at this going on 4 years and still come across new situations all the time. We do water distribution, natural gas, and sewer collection. So with that being said it keeps us on our toes with all the different parts, regulations, etc.

We have used those high max clamps a few times here they work good and will seal most anything but they are not cheap last I looked where we order them it's $150 for a 4". Sounds like you guys have a full plate with water, gas, and wastewater. It's been kind of slow here lately we just finished the springtime flushing.

Back again, born in 1963, USMC 1983-1987, commercial
Vehicle driver since 1990, same company since 1991.

I love engine's, of all kinds, for example, 12v 5.9 Cummins, OMC outboards from 9.9 hp and up.
B-S on my 2 RER Snapper mowers, My 115 4 cylinder 2 stroke on my 18 ft deep V center console boat.
And for the grand finale, a Kohler K241 on my CC 106.

I have a Sleeper of off one of our wrecked road tractors
And used as a small tool shed.
I still enjoy driving but no longer love it, way too many regulations placed on commercial drivers anymore.
10 speed Road Rangers are dying out and 12 speed AMT's are taking over!

With front radar and cruise control on all you have to do is keep it between the lines it does everything else, like stopping if you don't.
Autonomous trucks are coming, I'm fine with that, I'll be retired by then.
God bless all,
Kevin

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
