Default Trash can solution

After spending way too long manually hauling trash and recycling containers out to the road this simple solution popped up the other day. Using just some 1/8" flat aluminum and a few pop rivets the task is now much easier, just in time or the looong upstate NY winter. Although the brackets could have been permanently fastened to the blade I chose to make them slide on and off with a pin to secure them. Heavier metal would be a plus but I have no welding or bending equipment. Happy hauling!!

Default Testing

LOL, They have not been tested full, including Racoons. I hope to see if they can handle the weight this weekend. I just saw an ad for low temp welding rod that will work on any metal using a Mapp torch. I may choose to rebuild these things with thicker metal if the rods actually work.

Great idea! How are they to see around when driving? Possible to put in the back with a 3 point and a bar? Would also add more weight to the rear for better traction in the snow. I like your creative thinking!!!

No problem viewing where the cans need to go.. There are no obstructions. Between the wheel weights and calcium filled tires there is plenty of weight in the rear. I can hardly lift the weights or tires. The tires never lost traction while moving heavy snow. That will be re-verified tonight with the 2 + foot of snow predicted.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
