I got the pdf file from Oak ( thank you very much ) and did the lathe work on the pump adapter.

As soon as the measurement of the crankshaft bolt circle is verified, I'll make the Onan engine adapter.

Also curious what the 784 s/n is. 1984 was the cutover year for KT-17 S1/SII for CCC, I believe, and it was relatively early in the year that it happened.

Just wanted to post an update. I received the finished CV driveshaft from Jeff today and I am beyond impressed with his work and dedication. I'm glad I went with the CV joint setup because it's so much beefier than the original straight shaft, and (hopefully), if I keep it greased, it'll never wear out. Coming from a John Deere background (driveshafts with u-joints), I find the Cub Cadet CV setup to be quite interesting and different.

The Onan flywheel adapter Jeff made was a perfect fit, as well. I currently have the Onan torn apart to get freshened up, but I'll get everything mounted in the tractor over the next few days and hopefully wake the Onan up from its 13-year nap. And since everyone likes pictures...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
