Amp gauge

Okay guys,

I purchased a amp gauge from Charlie, but it does not have a negative, just l+b+. How does it wire?

When you look at the front of it (face of the gauge) the needle is at the center and to can go to the left (negative, or discharge) or to the right (positive, which means it's charging). I believe the 2 terminals on the back correspond with that.

At least they do on mine, and mine charge okay

I would confirm with Charley or on the net
- typically an ammeter is wired in series with the load ->l+ goes to the alternator/generator positive and the b+ goes to the battery positive then direction of current flow is indicated by the needle.
Volt meters are typically parallel to the circuit.

I have three 2" ammeters in my parts collection. I just looked at them.
None are identical to each other and none have any markings as to pos or neg for the terminals.
If the rest of your wiring is correct, you've got a 50/50 shot at connecting it for the right direction on the first try.

Wire it like you were instructed last week. IF......you wire it backwards it will indicate backwards. As stated, you have a 50/50 chance of getting it correct, and NOTHING will happen if it is wired wrong. Simply reverse the wires.

B+ hooks up to battery. L+ or - hooks up to B terminal on voltage regulator and B terminal of ignition switch. That’s according to a 1x8/9 wiring diagram.
