Prolly wish I didn't reply,-------
but are they like the other electric clutches, that a locked bearing causes a
run-on condition?

If you remove the power wire leading to the PTO does it still stay engaged? If it does then I would say the suggestion that the bearing is seized is correct. You need to remove power from PTO and check that.

What he said, unplug the wire going to the PTO and if it continues to make the blades turn you have a bad bearing in the PTO. If that is the case I suggest that you replace the PTO and be done with it unless you are OK with rebuilding your PTO.

Edit: These guys are our recommended go to when it comes to replacement PTO's

John I would plan on replacing the PTO, Cub part # is 717-3385 P.T.O. Clutch

This is a Google search so you can pick who you get it from

https://www.google.com/search?source....0.B7aRlakT8js

I've used these guys for a couple PTO's with good success.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
