Thanks Roland. So I guess maybe this isn't the original clutch because it
has one spring, style A? https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/conte...6948bd0860c9/y Diagram for 125 of Cub Parts lookup. Ken |

The Chart I made is "correct". Go by that, and repair your PTO correctly.

So would someone please confirm to me what style A or B this clutch is?
Also is this the right adjustment gauge for the clutch shown? Have had this on and off the tractor 3 times and same result. PTO is engaged always, constantly turns snow thrower. Seems like I am over tightening the clutch with this as the gauge. Have also managed to ruin 3 buttons on the lever, dang it. Thanks. Ken DSCN2466.jpg |

That is a style b, and the gauge is correct.

Thanks, now if you can help me understand why this chart calls it a style
A. Maybe I am just a bit thick? Don't Answer that. https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=9 Ken |

thanks Lew. That lets me know I am not losing my mind.
So I have been setting the spring pressure with the wrong gauge apparently. Went out and took it apart and reset it by feel and got it running just fine. Wow it is a fine line between the lever setting for the PTO button and the belt tension for the thrower, to get it to go as it should. Sure would have been alot easier if someone would notice that the parts sellers and the chart here don't agree. Like I noted way back in post #9 Ken |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
