Did a little more work on the 60” Haban deck today. The rear mounting bracket had a couple cracks in it and had been poorly welded in the past by the PO. Removed the bracket straightened it, ground out the broken welds, re-welded it and added a couple reinforcement plates to it. I didn’t like the way it was designed, the way it was as the tractor pulled it forward or lifted it would cause the bracket to try to bend forward. I think this is why it cracked in the first place. Two 4” X 4” X ¼” plates, a little welding and four 3/8” bolts later and I’m pretty sure that problem is solved. Pulled the rear wheels, cleaned the bearings, greased the whole thing, tomorrow I hope to hang it under the 2182 and kill some grass with it.

Used the Haban deck easy install tool today. Anyone that has installed one of these older style Habans knows how much fun it can be. This tool works awesome. First you position the Haban deck behind the tractor, then you attach the Haban easy install tool, lift the tractor, roll the deck under the tractor, lower the tractor and attach the deck to the lift. Install the belt and go kill grass.

Allen
I love the Cubs but I don't know what I would do around here without the little Bota.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
