FFA Auction Mini-Haul
Stumbled on these decks when I went to an FFA auction Saturday. Didn't end up getting what I was supposed to be there for but I'm a lot happier with the 50C and mule drive for $10. Also got a 48" IH deck with a weird alteration on the ID number.
So, is there any reason why the 50C wouldn't work on my 1811 or the IH 48" on my 126? I've been wanting a 50C to use instead of the 44C I have and it's only fair to give the 126 six more inches too.

The 50 will fit the 1811, the 48 will fit the 126. Nice find.

Wow, nice haul. And i thought i did good the other day for a 44a at $50. It's in the best shape for a cub deck i've ever seen. If i had to guess, i'd say 50 hours. You did very well. Mike

Thanks guys. The 50C has a little bad spot in it, someone tried to fix it and it's good enough. Believe it or not, I looked under it after picking it up to notice that whoever put the blades on last got them upside down.

Great find CadetTommy! A little difficult to tell, but it looks like your 48" deck has the additional guard on the front face, which is hard to find in my area....so, to me that is not only an awesome price paid for them that would make both me and my Uncle Lew proud, but also a terrific find for something that is hard to come by!

Thanks all. I'll probably set the 50C on tomorrow, expecting it to work great since the 60" on my 1872 does fine with the same engine. I think it's time to actually disable the reverse switch now.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
