Default Hy Trans fluid for a 2072 SGT
Hi all
I want to buy 2 gal of the above fluid it seems to be 40.00 a gallon is that the best I can do?
Also is the hydro filter used to clean the differential fluid in the rear end. What I'm asking is does this 7 quarts of fluid run the hydraulics and the rear end.

Yes, that fluid runs everything that's not engine oil. It's CaseIH HyTran optimally (or CCC's future versions).

This is the stuff I use, w/ inflation up to $30/2 gallon.

At the local Case/IH dealer, I just paid $28 with NY tax inc. for a gallon of the genuine stuff part number 73344265 . Check around for a local dealer. Should be cheaper than any online price with shipping factored in...

7 qts. is an approximate amount. Best to get the 2 gallons for a little extra. I fill these without the relief valves installed. It offers venting, so that the fluid goes in much quicker without the burping effect.

Like the hydro filter, only use the genuine stuff for best results.

1" box wrench. On some machines, the rear fender pan can be in the way, and would need to be loosened and blocked up for more clearance.

Those hydro valves have o-rings to seal them to the hydro unit. No need to replace them every time they are removed. Just make sure they are lubed with fresh HyTran upon installation.
