Resurrecting the Yellow & White CCC 984
Greetings,
I figured I'd make a new thread to document the 984's return to service after sitting almost 20 years. Attached is the tractor how I found it, then it's status last night. Rear tires are off as I cleaned/am painting the rims in preparation for new Carlisle Multi Trac CS Lawn & Garden Tires (Rear - 26X1200-12 LRB 4PLY; Front - 18X850-8 LRD 8PLY). I plan on pressure washing the rest of the tractor and getting tires on it before any real use. The cab (headliner), fuel tank, and fuel lines were in sad shape when I got it. I also have some wiring "modifications" to undo in the immediate future. The engine is a Liminar/Onan Performer 20 crate engine put in right before the tractor was parked.

Back on track -- canvas white is not the near match I read it to be, unless it dries significantly darker.
 Pressure washed, wire wheeled, wiped down, and primed the rear rims. New tires arrived today, so hopefully I can finish paint tonight and mount tomorrow after work.

I used Valspar IH white from Farm & Fleet, & the color wasn't bad (I started using it on my Y/W 782) but the cans suck, and I'm not sure F & F handles it anymore. I ended up running up to Otter & springing for the IH IronGard paint.
I've got a can of Krylon IH white here too, but I can't remember what I used it on, or where I got it. Probably used it on the wheels on my 1050, and they don't look bad. I don't recall the paint itself being a problem either.

I did get the homemade door off the Sims cab and the whole tractor pressure washed tonight. Tomorrow I want to dial in the rear brakes and possibly mount the rear tires/dismount the old front tires and prep them for paint. Still not sold on this color for the "white", but sending it for the Y/W 782's rear ag tires.

The Rustoleum Almond is VERY close to the original 80's Cub cream. I've used it several times and have been pleased with it.
