Default 782 Front Wheel bearings 941-3002 ( 741-3002)

Are the dimensions of these bearing unique to Cubs because the price of a cheesy Flanged Bearing should not be over $10 let alone 2x that price.
At a quick measuring they look like 1" inner and 2.125 outer.
I hate to pop one and and possibly damage a not so bad bearing just to bring it to a Bearing place for alternates.

Iv been getting the number off the bearing or look in a parts schematic and ordering off of ebay. Usually a lot cheaper.the bearing number should be same dimensions regardless of mfg. Worked
well for me the last couple years ...

Napa has them, but I don't remember the exact price.

I have an account at NAPA.. Tough to go in there and as to shop their storage room though.
How did you get the part? Did they spend the time to size it for you?

I just told them that I need a 1" front wheel bearing for a Cub Cadet. We do seem to have an exceptional store here, unlike some.

I bought some replacements at a local bearing distributor. As they told me the original designed ones were hot rolled to create the flange while the replacements I got from them were machined and more precision made. Still after running a couple of years, I had one of those higher quality bearings shatter the inner race. Was a real bear getting in apart as it swedged itself to the axle shaft while under load. When I finally got it apart, i replaced it with the same bearing but I also added 2 non-flanged bearings (and spacers) to back up the outer flanged bearings and spread the loading out. I have my fingers crossed and after 2 seasons it seems to be holding together fine.

With inflation that front 1" bearing is now over $30

It was actually cheaper to get them on eBay from Minion than NAPA, even after my "discount".

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
