Default 982 Engine Angle

Has anyone else noted the angle (to the right as seated) on the Onan engines in the 982?

I assume it's to keep it within the frame, but seems wacky. Looks like the frame adapter plate is OEM, though, I was just surprised to see that much side angle on the driveshaft (not that it's worse than the usual upward angle).

I don't think any of my 982's do that.

Here is a pic of one that I redid a few years ago. Are your mufflers lower on one side?

I know I ran into an issue with the P series being shorter front to back because of the flywheel design. I had to get Jeff to make me a new driveshaft that was longer than the original. Isn't yours a replacement? If so, I wonder if the did something different.

No issues on mufflers, but angled side to side. Underneath your tractor, is there a bigger gap on one side of the adapter plate to engine bolt mount than the other?

Are you saying the engine is angled, or that is sits offset (to the right, while in the seat) of the centerline of the tractor?

I'm thinking that my 782 is offset to the right. I have an 1811 engine plate, and a cyclops engine plate lying around I could look at.

I think it's offset which causes the driveshaft to have some angle.

I couldn't find my cyclops plate lying around but I have a Command 18 from an 1864 on the bench still on the plate and it is definitely offset to the right. Tried taking a pic with my phone but I can't get it to upload.

I think my 1711 was skewed too, but don't remember being able to notice the driveshaft angle. Longer frame/shaft might be making it appear more noticeable, too.
