PTO clutch for my 1782
I'm having a problem with the PTO clutch on my 1782. Unfortunately, I have zero experience with electric PTO clutches, because I have never had a problem with one. It will work fine for maybe an hour then I believe if shuts off and starts lugging the engine down. It's kind of hard to tell, because I have to get the PTO switch shut off fast to keep the engine from shutting down. I can shut the switch off, let the engine come back up to speed and it might not do it again or it might do it within a few seconds. It mostly, but not always, does this as I shift from forward to reverse. Any thoughts?
Also what does everyone recommend for replacement clutches? I see them for anywhere from around $125 to over $500.

What deck are you using. What you are describing, sounds like to me could be a deck spindle binding.

It's a 60" that I completely rebuilt a few years ago and keep pretty well maintained. This is its 8th mowing season. I'll take the belts off and see how it feels and grease it again before I mow next time.
Now that you mentioned that, about the only thing that didn't get replaced during the rebuild are the mule drive pulleys. I guess I'll start my checking with them.
