No spark 782
I have a 1981 782. Has original series I engine. Use it regularly. It lost spark a week ago. Cleaned the points. No change. Getting power to the coil and points. Installed new coil, points and condenser. Checked contacts at ignition switch. Cleaned the engine ground. Not sure what is going on, thanks for any help.

I’m guessing you’ve replaced the plug?

I am assuming, it is an IH built machine. With that in mind, considering everything is stock, wired correctly and properly functioning, you could have a bad "seat switch".

I currently have a customers all original model 1711 that has been setting not running for 4 years. Same problem occurred, no spark. All involved components were good. The points were cleaned and engine timing set at .020 . Starting the tractor and letting off the start position, I then was getting spark too late. I adjusted the points again and tractor starts correctly now.

It was the timing. Went through the same procedure, got spark, fine tuned it and now runs smoother than I’ve ever heard it. Thanks for all the help everyone!
