Default Penetrating Oil Test

Very interesting video here.

I'd like to see PB and Kroil on the lineup, but still, a neat video.

I agree with you there. I use PB and have had good luck with it here in the rustbelt. I know a lot of people swear by Kroil though too.

I've always used PB, but have been meaning to use the kroil/acetone mix since I've been a member on here. This was the first I heard of the mix and apparently it's a popular one.

We used IH penetrating oil, until there was no more IH. Turns out Cadet was packaging and selling the same stuff. I've still got part of a case of Cadet penetrating oil--it was a bad lot that leaked more than it sprayed.

Now I just use WD-40 when things need to be a little "slicker". PB Blaster for the tuff stuff. After that I go to full "Kenny Rogers" mode (know when to "fold em" using penetrating oil) and break out the hot wrench, it always wins.

Picked up this bottle from a Cadet dad worked on 15 or so years ago.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
