Since I was working second shift I was home in the morning. I turned on the news about 9:30 while drinking my coffee and saw the footage of the first plane hit and spent the rest of the morning watching the TV. When I went into work at 3 in the afternoon the entire shop was watching the news reports on the TV in the break room we spent most of the night shift just wondering what was next. My thoughts and prayers are with those who lost so much on that day.

I was close. Thankfully not too close. Was on my way into the city. In traffic in mid-town tunnel when the first plane hit. I was heading in to see a client downtown. Made the turn onto the FDR and could see the smoke. Must have been around 25th or 23rd streets I heard what happened on the radio. A couple blocks later NYPD had streets blocked heading south. Almost at the exact same time I was about to head back up town the radio announcer reported the second plane hitting. People pulled over and got out of their cars and looked downtown where you could already see the smoke. It was the most shocking and unsettling feeling I have ever felt in my life. My appointment was for 9:00 AM and I called to tell my client I was running late "traffic" Within minutes it was impossible to use a cell phone. Driving back on the LIE "Long Island Expressway" lots of people pulled over and stood beside their cars in shock. Watching emergency vehicles race by heading west into the city.
I lost 2 close personal friends that day and 4 more over the years from related issues from being at the site. I will never forget that day or the days my friends passed away from their injuries. I will never forget all of the heros that rushed to help others and lost their lives I will never forget the servicemen and women who fought back for us and continue to protect us from this evil happening again.

My wife spent 3 weeks at ground zero as a nurse with the Red Cross Disaster Relief caring for the rescue crews’ many injuries an fatigue. She wanted to stay longer but they wouldn’t let her. She said it was the hardest and most rewarding thing she ever did. She still has her hard hat.

I was working in a warehouse at the time when the radio DJ started to report about the first plane hitting the tower. It was most times just backround noise, but something in his tone made me stop and listen.Like the others have said, we gathered around listened as the other reports came in.That's where I was,but what what comes to mind first every time happened a few weeks later. The wife and I went to a birthday party for her young niece. Was a group of kids just playing having fun when in hushed tones we were informed one little boys dad was among the missing. He was at the time much too young to know daddy was not coming home again.Even that far removed it really bought it home to me what people lost,I won't ever forget.

As unfortunate as that is, the ones who go to the front and put their lives on the line have no control over the BS bureaucracy. Yet, they do it anyway.

I was at work and just after break the first plane hit. Most of us thought it was just an accident. When the second plane hit, I knew something wasn't right.
Then the Pentagon and the plane going down in Shanksville, PA My work is under the normal flight path for Willow Grove Naval Air Station ( now closed ) and a LOT of military aircraft were flying in the weeks after. You usually didn't see helicopters flying with door gunners on both sides in my area. Two weeks after my wife and I took our scheduled vacation to Ontario Canada for fall pike fishing. This time we had to clear US Customs before going to Canadian Customs. The US Customs guy talked to both myself and my wife. As in, both of us spoke to him. I guess having a PA Dutch accent helped out this time. |

I was at my parents that morning visiting with mom. I was on second shift then. Saw the second plane hit. Then the towers fall. Horrific feeling knowing there was no way everyone got out and fire and police personnel were in.
Never forget.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
