Anyone that bought a new mower
Still have it?
I bought this 1330 lawn tractor new back in 1992. Those that know me, know I can't get on a GT without help, so that was why I went with the LT. It's "much" lower, and easy to get on alone... Anyway, yes, I replaced one hydro unit in it's life. And replaced the engine, not that it was shot, but tired, and I got a smoking deal on a new replacement. I averaged 100 hours a year with this little tractor mowing lawn, and cutting my food plots, until around 2011 or 12 before getting the bush hog on the Kubota, and getting on the GT's with Nancy's help. It's been sitting in the barn for the last 4 or 5 years collecting cobwebs, and mice chit. Last week I felt the "need" to get it out, and stretch its legs a little. So I charged a battery, changed the oil and filter, and cut the lawn with it today. Never missed a beat. That LT 44" deck really cuts nice. But after being spoiled with the others, especially the 2372 (1872), it'll get cleaned back up, and put back in the barn for another, who knows how many years. But I may just use it a time or two yet before that day. And there it will stay till I get the itch again to bring it out, and "stretch its legs". Is there anyone here that bought a NEW machine, original owner that still has it? I know it's only a LT, but this little tractor has been good to me for many years. Still original paint, that still looks good today. anonymous image hosting pictures hosting free pic hosting

Lt 1045
Bought a LT 1045 in 2007 and have been cutting a little over 1 1/2 acers with it since, No problems at all. Have had to replace the drive belt 2 times and deck belt once, new blades a couple of times. I have read many bad things about these mowers, but mine has been a very good grass killer.
My opinion on equipment is to keep it maintained and it will serve you well.

The only "new" mower I have ever purchased, was bought this season,,,
It had set so long, the decals curled off,, but, they gave me such a good price, I did not care about the decals. I purchased my first Cub Cadet in 1980, it was a used Model 86 with a 14HP transplant,,, |

I never purchased a mower new, and don't really plan on it. I am happier with tractors that were over 30 years old before I was even born.
My grandpa bought my 1320 new, I don't know if that counts. It was in the family since new.

Todd, That little sucker looks nice!! You have really taken care of it... I'd still be proud to sport that around the yard!
Dad still has the 1450 that I grew up on.. it's a 75 model that he bought in 76.. does that count as new?.. it was so near new I didn't know it wasn't.. Mom still uses it 50 hours a year... All proves that anything can give good service if you take care of it!

Good looking LT Todd!!!
We bought a 1330 real cheap a few years back to keep at small farm my dad and brothers purchased. Had rented the place for 30 years and then had to start mowing the lawn as the owners- imagine that. Dad got sick of driving a mower over there. The 1330 is not as nice as yours and has 38 inch white colored deck. It has some gremlins now and reliability is an issue. Gonna get replaced with a 782. I bought this new. Sold it. Too many negatives.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
