You can get the gaskets now , it’s a universal, and they are proud of them.... The really hard item is the handle.

I can't wait to see if when the fridge is done. Sure is looking good now!
Do you keep the original mechanicals? With the expensive refrigerant? Or do you upgrade the cooling system?

The handle was fine on it.. I remember that it was a round top.. dad said he thought it was delivered around 1951 ish.. It wasn't full of beer.. at one point we were just using it for a storage cabinet with mostly welding supplies in it.. it still worked but would freeze up around the freezer section due to the gasket leaking... It was bad then... I really hate it now!!

I love the style. We had an old Philco at our summer cottage. They look very similar except for the door handle.

From what I’ve read, there isn’t a whole bunch to go out. Pretty much just the compressor. No defrost, defrost timer, computer controls...etc

So, this is the first one I did. 8 months or so ago. Came up on Craigslist on a Sunday morning. Picked it up 3hours later. 50 bucks. This one is a 1950. Missing the shelves and the handle has a piece missing.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
