Rambler
Here's the next project, it's a 1958 Rambler American. It belongs to my parents neighbor and it rolled out of his driveway and hit the fire hydrant in front of our office. While it's here I'm fixing a few other little dings and the whole car is getting repainted.

It is ugly but it grows on you after a while. I've always said it would look badass tubed out with a blower sticking out of the hood.

IIRR,
they were a uni body that tended to rot out where the front suspension met the body back in the day. Hope that was attended too/addressed during the restoration |

It's a West coast car and wasn't ever fully restored. Somebody painted it a few years back before he bought it and the paint is decent but could be better.

Ugly car, maybe....but fixing it up is beautiful money.
Sort of reminds me of Columbo's 1959 Peugot 403 Cabriolet.

My Grandmother had one of those from the very early 60s until 1974. In the winter, my Grandfather would open the hood and have a heat lamp warm the engine so it would start. ( it was parked in the barn. )
She would start it, let it warm up for a bit and back out the barn. Drop it in drive, mash the gas and head off to work. After many, many months my Grandfather finally convinced her to get a new car. She didn't want to "waste" money on a new car so she got a 1972 Javelin ( two years old at the time ). Yellow, black interior with console and bucket seats. It had a nice rumble with dual exhaust and as we found out watching her leave for work, it had a posi rear. She would start it, back out of the barn, put it in drive and mash the gas. It would light up the rear tires After the first morning, we would get up early just to watch her leave. She had it two weeks before they traded it in on a brand new 74 Olds Cutlass. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
