When I lived at my parent's house, I used this. Dad still uses it.
1953 farmall H with a cornhusker 3 point and a freeman blade. Tires are loaded. Here it is with a less appealing (but still as effective) heat houser on. The IH one is current. I used to wear sneakers cuz my feet would get too hot in boots. Now that I have my own place this is what I use. It works great but I still miss the H sometimes... I sure do miss running that old girl. thanks

I felt that way about my front blade when I repainted it last year, but my other alternative option was shoveling by hand (which I was NOT doing.) I had to remember it was going to be a worker and not a show queen. I used it, dinged it up a little, then spot painted it again this summer.

Well, just for fun, here's a couple pics of my snow equipment this year.....
The 1811. Currently in surgery. Scheduled maintenance and cab improvements. IMG_20141030_172239.jpg And the 1250DS. Waiting for surgery. Notice the absence of a motor, seat, rear cab window, broken front window, junk tires and general all around "not ready to do anything" look to it. IMG_20141030_172159.jpg I couldn't get to the blowers to take any good pics. The 450 is apart. Gearbox is on the workbench. Parts laying next to it. The QA42A.... same sad condition. Gearbox apart, parts sitting next to it. I also have a CC42 that I wanted up and running this year. It's at home, complete and in the corner. Stuck gearbox and chain. As you can see...... I AM NOT ready for snow. |

Got the snow plow hooked up. Used my universal mount winch to lift it and let it down. Works great.

Dan,
Neat Farmall H pics. Pretty nice setup. Is that a standard H or a Super H? If it is a regular one, it must be pretty late if it's a '53. I know the last of the H's had the disc brakes from the factory and are hard to find and bring good money.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
