Default Photo flipping theory
I've been on the forum and others based off vBulletin, and I've noticed one trend, the photos ending up in the wrong orientation.

I have a theory on what happens; is the forum automatically flips pictures to make them fit the page properly, so that's why pictures in portrait orientation end up sideways, but I think the reason why landscape photos flip is that the forum gets confused about their orientation and tries to make them fit the page, and upside down is what it thinks is right.

Like I said, it's just a theory.

You are wrong. It has to do with the phone you take pictures with. You need to hold the phone correctly. It's really simple to figure out. I don't know why people can't figure it out. Rotate the phone to the left for wide shots.

This forum does NOT rotate pictures. The pictures posted here are a result of what the Photographer takes.

I like your directions. I used to say put the home button on the right. My sons new iPhone has no home button. What you say is more universal.

I have posted 3 pics at one time, all taken the same way on IPhone, two will be normal one will be sideways. May be Iphone thing.
