Any options for Replacement Muffler for Cub Cadet 1650?
I have a cub cadet 1650 that the muffler just developed a big hole and crack. I am looking to fix it and wanted to know if anyone knows of replacement mufflers or options besides buying the Cub Cadet replacement muffler. Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks Cleon |

There really is no other muffler that will work. I realize the new one is $100, but you'll probably never have to buy a new one again after this.

Thanks for the reply Matt G.
I had a feeling there wasn't a generic less expensive option and the Cub Cadet replacement muffler for the 1650 was the only one that will work correctly. It is pricey but your right I shouldnt have to replace it again and from the specs it looks like the new muffler is advertised as being 35% quieter which is a plus. Thanks again Cleon |

Our suppliers offer two options: One is OEM style with crimped seams, while the other is a bit heavier-duty with welded seams. I got the one with the welded seams. It is a bit more expensive (that's the $100 one), but I am pleased with it. Quality is good and it will definitely outlast the OEM one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
