So what models would have the same grill as this 126???

If anyone has an OEM grill laying around they would be willing to sell and ship up to Alberta I'd be interested

Dragged this 126 into the shop yesterday so I can see what all needs to be repaired. Pulled the head and as expected the exhaust valve is stuck, but theres no ring lip in the cylinder, and no ugly noises while cranking it over, I cleaned the points and got spark so I think its promising. I wont restore it, I'll do repairs and buy new belts/filters, mount the snowblower and then put it up for sale.

Cleaned up the valve and have the head back on... it has compression now so tomorrow I'll check the fuel system and see if it will fire up

You have been busy, looks like it will be running in no time.
Does the drive line need anything?

Cant say as of yet, I havent looked at this rig since bringing it home a few months ago, the PO claimed it was 'running when parked' so I'll tackle it one issue at a time and see how it goes. I'd like to get into good working condition and sell it as a restoration project, but if it doesnt sell maybe I'll repaint it before next winter and try again.

Im a long ways from knowing what I'll be asking for it... and your a Long Ways Away.... you realize Im in Alberta, Can right?? Lol

Cleaned the carb and got it fired up, even took it for a little ride, gears are good, creeper is good, clutch is bad tho... I think the plates are just stuck together from sitting outside for a long time. It looks pretty rusty so I'll have to take it apart, I soaked everything down with penetrating fluid for today. Just seeing the tractor move under its own power was a big step in the right direction

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
