I slept quite well thanks.LOL

Still have to get the tiller and blower out of the trailer. I'll check the engine over today and see if I can get spark, and need to get some tires under it that hold air. I have a couple projects on the go that cant be put off so I wont be able to do much with it right away, but I'll get it stored inside at least. According to the seller it has only been sitting about 4-5 years and all the attachments were in working order at that time, he said he will call me if he finds the grill, he wasnt sure where that went to, the point cover is also missing. The hood is broken free around both hinge bolts so there some welding and bodywork required there.

I wont advertise it for sale but I will try to get ahold of a CC collector I know in Sask, he's bought a couple old cubs of me in the past and I now have two that I think he might be interested in, the other is a little red 382, I wouldnt mind parting with one or the other.

Im not brand bias but I am a real sucker for collecting older tractors and then refusing to part with them unless a buyer has more money than brains, just to name a few.... '48 Ford 2N, '57 Bolens Super Ride-a-Matic, '68 Sears SS12, '72 Ford LGT 100, '72 JD 110, '74 Columbia(MTD960), '76 Massey 1650, '75 Cub 382 Hydro, '73 Cub Loboy....... seems anything older than 1980 rarely leave the property

Well the starter works but theres no compression, my guess would be the exhaust valve is stuck open because when it turns over I feel air moving in and out of the exhaust port, but that indicates that the piston is moving at least. No spark but thats not really an issue at this point. Bottom of the fuel filter is missing, Im guessing that was a glass bowl? The snowblower isnt turning but thats probably just rust from sitting outside, the tiller and deck both turn easily, and it appears I have at least most if not all the required mounting hardware for all the attachments.

There is a push button in the upper right corner the dash thats currently connected to the starter however the printing on the dash would suggest there should be an electric lift switch in that hole...but... the lift for the deck is a manual handle so either something isnt right there or should it have an electric lift for either the tiller or blower? I didnt look for one.

Since its not going to be an easy start I put away in storage, indoors out of the weather, and I called the collector in Sask so he will be stopping by to look sometime in the future. For now its 'Rescued' but nothings going to happen in the immediate future. I'll try to find a fuel filter bowl and an original grill but I have some aluminum expanded metal I could make one with.

Appreciate the help guys, I may have let it slip by without even knowing it was a low production model had I not posted it on this forum. Always learning something around here. If anyone has a pic of an original fuel filter they care to share I'd be interested to see it so I can try find the proper replacement.

Not much left of the muffler but I think I have a replacement handy...

That's better yet. The way I see it is you paid for the exhaust elbow, and got everything else free. You definitely made out like a Bandit. That free flow muffler might have to go as well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
