It does have the adjustment hole for the steering on the right and the S/N is in the 45,000's I think....too lazy to go out into the garage and check.

Not only a nice job on the tractor, but what a great project for son and father! Always great to work together on a project and see it come together...together.

We had a light day yesterday as we had a 2185 to get running and played around doing a few other things. We did however get our clutch assembly finished. We upgrade to a stainless steel shaft that we made ourselves. All new bushings, faced the pressure plates, and lightly faced the clutch pulley, plus added a 'pulling' spring. We'll have to see if my son can handle the extra spring pressure which is about double.

Why add a pulling spring without adding a lot of horsepower?? I have yet to slip my clutch on my 10HP. (Actually I spent an hour trying to get the clutch to slip yesterday, without any luck!!) I was just wondering if there was another reason!!?? Maybe I need AG's or chains, or taller tires!!!?? |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
