Default Picture of the Week for March 14, 2010

Cub Cadet 127
Owner: Garry Bailey (gcbailey)
Location: West Virginia

Here's my 127 that I got from Papaglide back in May of 2010. It was my first time to NY, a nice 2 day roadtrip that I took with my dad. The tractor was in running order when I got it with just some minor things needed (head gasket, trunion repair....). It was also my first complete "working restoration". I completely striped, primed, re-painted the tractor and hopefully will get started on the deck any week... I'm still looking for a few attachments for it as I want it to be a working machine.

Thanks guys.... glad to share it and you all know I've got a LOT of help from OCC along the way with it.

I do have a 3 point that I need to get restored and installed. I'd like to eventually put some 10.5 wheels on the back. Jay's AGs on his 127 has me drooling a lot.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
