Glad to contribute to the comic relief. Both this tractor and forum are new to me so I'm trying to learn my way around both. I own and maintain vintage cars and always strive to put things back to original where possible and affordable. I guess I bring that same mindset to this 50-year-old Cub Cadet, so if I can find an original or close to original $5-10 muffler clamp, I’d much prefer to do that than throw a generic $2 u-bolt clamp on. Thank you, Roland, for the part number but I had that and I could not find a source, hence my post. As I said originally, it’s a trivial question (i.e., not really important or significant to me) and merely asked thinking someone might offer a suggestion.

I didn't specifically going looking for that clamp. This morning I done a simple internet search and discovered the part is NLA from Kohler. I did see some listings from dealers and eBay. This must be NOS. IF you want this part, then look and act fast.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
