Default Got Snow?

I was reading WagonMaster's 1650 thread; snow blower all ready to go and no snow to use it on.

Been there! Found a snow thrower for the 147 some time ago. Fixed it up, made it run, no snow all winter. Took it off, put on the tiller and used it in the Spring on the garden, and again in the Fall. Switched it back to the snowthrower, and no snow all Winter again.

So this year I say, "why bother?" Take a guess who was out there in the flurries getting that thing rigged up again. And I have to say, it really does work pretty well. Chains and washer fluid in turf tires seem to be the ticket.

Got plenty here!
Been working on a 147 myself installing a QA42 to use as a backup to the 1450
Built a weight box for it and added weight, added chains, reworked the PTO just to be on the safe side, and changed all the fluids and new transmission filter too.
Rebuilt the thrower gearbox w/all new seals and bearings as well as a new input shaft, Thanks to Jeff!!.

Should have it finished up today just in time for 3-8" due in here tomorrow night and thru the day on Wed, on top of 6-8 we got here yesterday.
Ain't winter fun!!

We're supposed to get more here tomorrow night; 3 to 5 inches if the weather droids are on their game. Then we're sending it North by East to you! The last three Winters here have been pretty mild, so it's good to get some weather again.

I put new bearings and seals in the gear box on mine, too, Jeff made new in and output shafts for it. The u-joints are new as well. It runs pretty smooth now. The first time I used it this year, I was almost done when the engine just spun down. It was like someone turned off the switch. With chains on I can't push it so I had to get the Yanmar and ease it 30 feet uphill to the garage. Dead coil. Finished the job with the blade on the Y.

Are you an IHCC Chapter #1 member?
I see their summer show will be in Paris, MO this year.
Thinking about taking some equipment down to that one 2nd weekend in July.

I'm not a member, but I do get to tractor shows from time to time. I'll try to make it out to Paris for the show this year.

You do not have to be a chapter member to show equipment at the state shows.
I might be there, but the date may fall on the Portage, WI meet that I usually go to.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
