Default 1976 1650 wheels bushings

Hi first forum ever so please forgive me if I post out of line.
I have a new to me 1976 1650 that runs great and will be put to work on our new property. I am wanting to do some general maintenance to keep it in good working order. First order of business is the front tires have a little slop in them, so I pulled rims and tires off to find it has bushings not bearings.

I’ve done a general quick google search for 1976 1650 bushings but not having the best of luck.
My question is do I need the model number of tractor to search for these parts? And any advice would be welcome, Thanks.

It should have bearings. If you have bushings someone has replaced the wheels.

First, welcome to OCC.....

The 1650 did NOT roll out of the Factory with Front Wheel Bushings. Must be a previous owner modification.

The 1650 DID use front wheel Bearings. During the course of production, they are started out with 3/4" bore bearings, then switched to 1" bore bearings.

* Serial Number <632501 used 3/4" Bearings
* Serial Number 632502> used 1" Bearings

IF.....you want to go back to original, you have to acquire the proper rims and get new bearings.

IF...you want to fix what you have, then take careful measurements and buy bushings from a supplier like McMaster-Carr.

If it's anything like my tractor it probably has the original bearings missing the center parts.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
