Default Brinly compactor-rake

I just picked this up off Craigslist. Never saw one before. This must be one the sturdiest built lawn sweeper ever made. The owner was a Brinly employee for 35 years. He gave me an amazing deal on it. Came with bag also. Hopefully someone can rotate the pictures. I can never get them the right way, only happens here ..

You're right. They are built extremely heavy duty.

I had one a long time ago. It will work on light leaf cover. I had way too many leaves. If the leaves are damp or several inches deep, the intake will jam and slide the wheels. The bag doesn't hold much either. I messed with it for a year or two and then got rid of it for an EZ Vac. Best money I ever spent. That was 25 years ago and I'm still using it.

That may be my old one in the picture?

I recently bought a Trac Vac 450 and a Trac Vac trailer type. Looking for replacement hoses for them. Also have the Peco leaf vac.

For hoses, go to

Uland Supply
500 E Broadway
Lousiville, Ky.

They have both 6" and 8" hose. They used to sell a very heavy, heavy duty white rubber hose and the price went out of sight for me. Last time I bought hose a couple years ago, I bought the orange colored hose. Much cheaper, much lighter and has held up well. Better than I expected.

Thank you for the info. I will definitely check them out. I also saw that the brinly had a metal hopper you could get in place of the bag. That looks much more user friendly

My error. Been so long since I had it, I had forgotten. Mine had a metal hopper.

That is neat, looks heavy and well built. As far as the pictures, I take them on an iPhone and hold the phone horizontal with the home button to the right. No issues.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
