1045LTX not moving
1045LTX Cub, bought in 2009, 11 Hrs.
What would make it, all of a sudden, NOT move? Starts, push down hydro for fwd or backward and it makes this horrible grinding noise. that pin in the back is pulled out and locked in. The emergency brake is loose, like it's not engaged. Thoughts?? Thanks! Mark |

if I'm reading you right 'pulled back and locked in'. On my 1045 you pull the pin back (out toward you) and lock it to put the hydro in free wheel. The pin should be pushed in toward the tractor.

Thanks for the replies.
Yes, you read it right but I miswrote it. It was pushed in. Thanks tho. Now, it has been repaired and appears to be working perfectly. I took it to a licensed cub dealer, 45 minutes away, and they fixed that. But, this is the note I received. Quote:
They also did a full warranty inspection and everything was ok except these: Quote:
This is my first Cub. I like the way this Cub handles, tight turns, good ride, physical comforts like the cupholders placement, extra storage in front of me, clear gastank....I like mostly everything about this mower. BUT>>> I bought this mower new from Home Depot. This mower only has 15 hours on it. And loose connections, bad battery had to be replaced, and locked up for some unknown reason. I have a little bit of rough yard, but not much. Can't understand those connection problems. For two thousand dollars and a longtime name, I expected it to be a few years before I had problems. I didn't think I was buying problems. Maybe this was it. On the upside, it was good to get the warranty inspection and meet a good service department. Well, I wanted you guys to know about the fix. Thanks! |

My LTX1050 needed the deck idler pulleys replaced with less then 50 hours on the machine. Done by the dealer I bought it from under warranty. Also the engine has developed a surging when running that only goes away if you put on the choke. The shop played around with carb but I think it still needs more work on it.
The machine has done more then I ever expected from a riding mower. I use it to mow the fields, roads and area around the dam on my tree farm. It goes up and down a road that requires 4 wheel drive in the truck. Have to shot some video next time I mow there. Tom |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
