Default Spring assist on my 104

Looking for recommendations on a factory or homemade spring assist for my 104. 12" of snow over the weekend made a believer out of me.

(Sorry for the picture being upside down...can't ever seem to fix it when it happens.)

You can find a factory one. "And now a message from our sponsors and we will be right back" at the top of the page.
If you can make one keep us posted, I have seen all types from bungee cords to bed springs...

On y grandpas 104 we took 2 eyebolts an drilled them through the front frame and added 2 springs like used for snowthrowers to assist the blade going up an down. He was 88 and still plowing. I had both a thrower an a blade an gave him my blade...hes gone now an I never got my plow back sadly but oh well...karma

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
