Default IH 42 inch blade pin

Has anyone replaced the pivot pin on the mount that holds the blade to the mount? I just finished up moving 10 inches of snow off my driveway when I was setting the blade straight and it fell off it was really sad but yet funny that's not going to work very well.
I have an idea to cut the old one out and replace it with a 3/4 by 10 coarse thread bolt the one that broke had fine threads and castellated nut with cotter pin.

Did you still have the spring for it? I had to replace mine last year because the old one got bent from multiple hard impacts and got too weak. Ended up finding some scrap metal and made a new one.

Yes the springs are both still really good, I only had one hard impact that put the blade all the way over but otherwise it's been very good. I just put a new blade and skid shoes on it about a month ago. I have some pictures of the broken pin little post in a little bit. I thought I had seen somebody had these for sale.

I had one that broke. To get me out of a jam, I went to Tractor Supply and bought a Hitch Pin of the same diameter. I then cut to length.

Thankfully I had just finished up and it was ready to put the Cub Cadet in the garage. I was thinking about putting a bolt through there but I have time now so I got a piece of three-quarter inch by 7 inch round and I'm going to tap one end 3/4 by 16 fine thread and weld it into place.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
