Default MTD Bought by Black & Decker
Apparently I missed this back in August. Stanley Black & Decker had owned 20% of MTD and has now acquired the remaining 80 percent. MTD is the company that owns the Cub Cadet Brand.

Yes. This wasn't really surprising, given how Craftsman is their love child in OPE, and being pushed really heavily. I wonder if they'll roll out 20v DeWalt based Cub Cadet cordless tools now

Hey now don't give them any ideas!

In all seriousness that would probably be an easy money making scheme for them. Cub Cadet is usually referred to as "high quality" by the average homeowner and if they rolled out Cub Cadet power tools, people would probably buy them just because of the brand name!

They already build Dewalt zero turn mowers, which are probably just MTD mowers painted yellow.

Personally, I think this acquisition is NOT going to be good for Cub Cadet. The "bean counters" will take an already dismal situation, and make it worse.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens.
