One of the other cub sites talked about this and had nothing but good things to say. I would love to see it mounted in an 82 series. My 782 is getting tired and it'll only be a plow/play tractor so I wouldn't have to worry about a pto.

I'm 90% sure my 782 is getting one of these.

The M18 I put in this spring is dumping MAJOR oil out from behind the flywheel. That means it has to come back out, to replace what i hope is the crank seal.

I'm getting tired of dealing with it.

I found a drawing for the driveshaft adapter, the thickness or length will most likely be different, but this is a start;

I also found a coupon code that seems to work for 20% off;
12765822.

I have a few people running the Predator generators and they run just fine.

I will need to hook up the PTO as my 782 mows and snow throws both.

If I pull the trigger, I'll start a thread on here, to show what is involved.

The problem with these is that they only put out 7 amps. May not be enough to run the PTO and charge the battery.

If it it can be done and it works at $550 for a brand new engine it's a no brainer, I'd buy one tomorrow. Looking forward to your updates.

Yeah, that's a concern for me. Not sure what the KT or Mag engines output was?

Possibly hook an alternator up.

The Magnum service manual lists both a 15 and 25 amp stator. Not sure which ones were used in the Cubs, but at least 15 amps.

I believe the KT's and above (Mag & Command) have a 15 amp charging rate.

And I wish there was an easy way to add on an alternator to our Cubs without a lot of fab work. If I had the extra amps to play with, I'd have a heater in my cab during the winter

Beat me to it AFAIK, all Cubs had the 15 amp system. The 25 was an option I believe for some industrial applications

If I lived further north, I'd take some copper tubing and wrap it tightly around the muffler. Connect both ends of the copper tubing to heat resistant rubber hose and bring both ends of the hose into the cabin. Hook up a computer fan to one end , enjoy warm air out the other end. Sure the heat transfer wouldn't be terribly efficient, there may be losses along the way, but since you're recirculating it should warm up in 5-10 minutes. At least in theory

Do we have any HVAC experts in here

Somewhat more on topic, we have quite a few people here that can fabricate things, I think an adapter kit for the predator engines would be lucrative business. The driveshaft may require length adjustments as well. So a kit could contain the flywheel adapter, driveshaft, mounting plate adapter and any PTO adaptations needed. Anyone willing to invest $550 in an engine and put it all together?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
