My new CC30H leaves strips uncut
I haven't had my CC30H long, only have about 6 hours on it.
What's bugging me is the strip of uncut grass it leaves, even with me maintaining a significant overlap. Today before I got underway I confirmed the tires were 10 psi on the rear, and 14 psi on the front. I also went slower and it seemed a little better. Is this just something that's to be expected with this mower, or is there something I can do to improve things. Is there a better third part blade? |

Where did you purchase it at? Did you check the blade? Got any pics of the underside of the deck you can post?

Is the blade mounted correctly and is "sharp"?

I would hope both of those are true, since the blades come on them from the factory. So unless the OP had a different blade put on, interesting.
How tall/thick of grass are you mowing, is it at WOT, and are you mulching or using the side discharge?

Agree with the others, blade is my 1st thought. Also.... Is the belts (if any) and PTO functioning properly.

One or more blades on UPSIDE DOWN!!
For Pete's sake, pull the deck and flip it and take a look. Issue should be readily apparent I would think! |

This is a 1 blade tractor that should have came with a mulching/combination blade.

Thanks for the responses so far and apologies for not adding more detail in the first post.
Bought new from the below dealer at the end of the mowing season last year. https://www.andersonssales.com/locations/26784 6.5 hours on it - everything is as new. I've put the front on ramps and inspected the blade - it is correctly installed but as I've learnt to expect from the factory installed blade its not as sharp as I sharpen it bay hand. The deck is level. As mentioned before, going slower results in a minor improvement, but I'm still having to go over the same sections more than once to get the lawn looking a little more even. Its the Hydro drive, so going slower doesn't reduce the blade RPM. My hour meter/tacho shows 3,200 rpm when set to max throttle, which is where I use it. At my age my Honda self propelled walk-behind was getting a bit much for me, and the ride-on is a blessing, just looking for ideas on improving the quality of the cut, understanding that this model is at the low end of the manufacturers range. My selection of this model wasn't budget driven, but space in my garage and the clearance through my aluminum fence's gates. |

I wouldn't be here politely asking for advice if that were the case.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
