Default Crooked

Hey all! I just bought a 1450 and looks like maintenance was not on the list of things to do to it. So I'm going over it and trying to gey it back to good running health. I had to order a air duct box for it and noticed looking from the front of it the motor looks lopsided. It leans down to the left and I don't know if this is normal? And I did notice the motor has been rubbing the frame on the left side. I ordered new motor mounts, so is this a adjustment thing I can fix when installing new mounts? Thanks for any feedback

Mounts are probably the whole problem. Check the threads in the oil pan. Do a cradle modification.

I would recommend you also check the driveshaft and replace any worn parts while you have the engine out.

Welcome to OCC,
Do heed the advise given.
Many Many posts here on mounts, stripped oil pan bolts, cradle modifications
and which mounts to buy.
Take your time and read before you leap into unknown to you, waters.
We here have walked the path before you.
When done it will last another 40 + years because it will be better than new.
We would rather have you ask "stupid questions" ( no such thing) than have to tell you how to fix an avoidable problem.

Thanks for the wise advice and I will be pulling the engine to check all bolts. I just received new rubber mounts today.

You will also likely have severe wear on the axle housing from the pan rubbing.]If you are lucky the pan will be cast iron.
If it is aluminum, inspect closely for worn mounting bosses and stripped threads where it mounts/bolts to the cradle.
Would be a good time to replace it with a cast iron piece.
If one or more of the bosses are badly worn, the engine will not sit square in the cradle. I suppose one could machine them all the same height and install shims to bring it back into alignment.

Well I found the problem, on the starter side of the oil pan the bolt holes are worn down so much it was making the engine lean that it was rubbing frame rail and also the frame under the motor. Sure an glad I caught this before it got any worse. I'd post a pic but I don't know how to load one up?

I did find a cast iron pan on ebay and I also found a cradle mod online I purchased. Thanks to mortten for direction to upload pic

yep, she has been hammering for a while,
are you getting a new cradle with modifications?
or going to do it yourself?
Because yours have to be cratered pretty bad, from the look of oil pan.
