4 digit Original
I have a 4 digit O that I am considering selling. Serial is 6462 making it built in May of 1961. Sheet metal is straight and not badly rusted. No frame cracking is visible. The un-slotted dash tower is in good shape. I have not had the engine running although it does turn over nicely. Included but not installed is a creeper gear and the proper driveshaft. Pan seat has the normal cracking but not so badly it cannot be repaired by welding. Tires are holding air. I'd be interested in hearing what you think it's worth. I will post a picture later this evening. Stan

worth more in parts than whole. Fenders and creeper especially. Hate to say it but probably $300 tops for just the tractor. Sell the creeper and fenders seperate and make some decent money on the whole deal.

I paid $150 for serial 5353 and the same for serial 9xxx in similar shape. They made 65,000 of them and it seems unless it’s a 3 digit the money isn’t there for them. I still love them and is one of my favorite models

Nice Original Doc! Good thing I'm not closer cause I'd likely be interested.. I always thought I'd like to have a 3 digit or a 4 digit just for the novelty! But then again I have all kinds of projects that I'll likely never get to before I die!
I'm with the others.. get it running and driving.. might bring a bit more that way... plus you can have a bit of fun with it! Pure guess would be 3-500... I'ts worth whatever somebody will pay!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
