Both. There isn't much to them, but with the belts and chain drive it would be nice to know a little more about them.
Thanks guys

Myron Bounds (SP?) a member here is kinda the RER king. If you can't find him, Roland can help you. I think I have a PDF file of the motor manual. What are the model and spec numbers of the engine? Post those and I'll check.

Hi Zippy,
I printed both of the service manuals for my Cubs on the Cub Cadet website. I googled service manual for my mower and came up with various options - some wanted me to pay for the manual, but I finally found it on the Cub Cadet site. If you send me the model number I will look around for you and see what I can find. |

But as always, I had another brain fade. A month or so ago I picked up the service manual, so I'm good to go. This thing is sitting back in the way back corner and I pretty much forgot about it till I read your post. Right now it's the last thing on the list of things to get done

Zippy, if it were mine, I'd be fixing this mower up! I really like them, and would fit the bill for smaller yards. Mowing with a classic, now I like that! |

My grandfather had an 85 and I spent many hours mowing with it. It was fun to drive but it took forever to get the yard mowed with that little deck lol

Cool shopping trip you went on Todd. That one looks really good, most are total basket cases.
You said you didn't need it, I think you did.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
