Default HDS 2150 Cadet spares

My first post here, and as you can guess my tractor is getting long in the tooth and parts are getting hard to find. Living in Europe even harder in fact, and very expensive with it. I had new blades delivered from the USA for one third of the price here. But I am looking for an exhaust system for the MTD HDS 2150 if I can find one. It is - or was - made by MTD and not Kohler, and if anyone can point me in the direction of a stockist I'd be very grateful.

One thing we have discovered recently is that there were two types of hydrostatic gearboxes, and that seems to be the base of many an argument as to what oil should be used. Early versions have a separate box from the rear diff, and so two different types of oil are necessary. The later ones are unitary with diff and box combined, so take a standard 10/40 oil it seems. Mine is the earlier one.

I'm glad to have found this forum, and look forward to hearing from you.

First, welcome to OCC...........

You can look up parts at the tab at the top of the page that says..."Cub Cadet parts and service lookup".

Before you go there, have your complete Model & Serial number at hand. This model has serial number breaks.

Our Sponsor CCSpecialties (see tab at top of page), has lots of parts, and is willing to ship overseas.

Bonjour , Mon Ami
As to oil for Hydrostatic I prefer a full synthetic as it gives extended oil changes times

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
